More Opportunities in Upcoming Years! 2019 – A Perfect Time for Canada Immigration

Canada Immigration Opportunities

The federal government of Canada has implemented a new immigration plan that will see them increase their admission rate for skilled immigrants admitting more than a million new permanent residents by the end of the year 2021.

Recent reports by the BBC, CNN has illustrated that Canada’s new three-year immigration target has set Canada apart on the global stage for immigration programs. CNN reported, “Canada’s friendly stance towards new residents comes as many other Western nations, including the United States, are adopting more restrictive immigration policies.” New York Times has said that the U.S must follow the example of Canada and must increase its immigration rate for its economic growth.

Under Canada’s latest three-year immigration levels plan, immigration level is set to stage the arrival of 1.3 million new permanent residence visa between the years 2018 and 2021. This new immigration plan will see a gradual increase in each year up to 350,000 in 2021. With the original target for the year 2019 and 2020 set at 330,000 and 340,000, has been updated to 330,800 and 341,000.

Around 60 percent of the new PR visa holder expected this year is projected to arrive through Canada’s skilled economic immigration programs. Express Entry managed three Federal High Skilled programs: Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) also provincial nomination programs (PNPs) are expected to account for nearly 75 percent of the economic admission in Canada.

Express Entry program, introduced in 2015, is designed to assist the immigration of the candidates who are highly educated, young, and proficient in English or French and are having the skilled work experience. With the use of the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), only the highly skilled immigrants have issued the Invitation to Apply (ITA) to apply for Canada PR Visa.

Of the 1.3 million new PR holders in Canada, nearly a quarter – 331,000 are expected to come through the three economic immigration managed by Express entry program, based on their annual targets.

Another major immigration program for skilled immigrants is the Provincial Nomination Program (PNP). PNPs have targeted the admission of around 255,100 immigrants over the span of the immigration plan, which accounts for 19 percent of the 1.3 million admissions. With its impressive growth, PNP is implemented to spread the benefits of immigration to the participating provinces and territories by giving the immigrants the status of the permanent residence in the respective province or territory.

Looking at the statistics of the recent years, PNPs have shown the admission growth rate of nearly 18 percent of the overall admission targets for 2018 to 20.2 percent of admissions target for 2021.

Family class admissions increased

Canada’s three years immigration plan also targets the family class immigration programs, with Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC) expanding the range of admissions through its spouse, partners and children sponsorship category.

These family immigration programs stand for the federal government calls for family reunification – “the central pillar of Canada’s immigration program” that “contributes to the economic, social and cultural prosperity of all Canadians.”

These family class immigration programs for spouses/common-law partners and children as well as parents and grandparents have a target of 88,500 in 2019 and 91,000 for the year – 2020 & 2021.

Obtaining Canadian permanent residence is one of the benefits of being able to sponsor other family members for permanent residence in the future.
