A new way to immigrate to British Columbia via the Entrepreneur immigration regional pilot program

Entrepreneur immigrants who are looking to move to the province of British Columbia are provided a new pathway via the referral of the local communities by a new regional pilot program, opened on March 14. This pilot immigration program is launched to help the smaller and local community in the province of British Columbia to attract new businesses and create jobs.

This immigration pilot program is for the regional communities with population less than 75,000 people which are locate within the 30 kilometers of a large population centre. This program aims to meet the demographic and economic challenges that are faced by these communities. With total of 30 communities already joined the regional pilot immigration program, now they are in position to refer the eligible candidates to the British Columbia’s Provincial Nomination Program (BC PNP) for consideration. For communities to participate, they must have the required support services that will help the business owners and their families to settle.

Entrepreneurs with experience who are approved by Entrepreneur Immigration – Regional Pilot, will receive a temporary work permit by which they will be able to start their business and can apply for Canada permanent residence visa if they can meet the conditions that were specified in the performance agreement.

British Columbia’s Minister for Jobs, Trade and Technology, Bruce Ralston said,” Due to an ageing workforce and a preference for city living, some smaller towns can face challenges growing their local economies. This pilot will attract new business that create jobs and spread investment around the province.”
